The islands of Ischia and Capri are two of the most famous locations in the Gulf of Naples. Seasonal hydrofoils and fast ferries travel between the two islands from early April to late October, with variable frequencies and days of operation.
The ferry companies providing high-speed ferries and hydrofoils on this ferry route are Alicost (Alilauro) and Capitan Morgan. Alicost offers passenger-only hydrofoils between the islands and along the Amalfi Coast. Capitan Morgan specializes in day tours from Ischia to Capri (and vice versa) and also allows you to buy one-way ferry tickets as well as round trip.
Please note: Ferry services vary in the times and days of ferry crossings offered. There’s usually a morning trip from the island of Capri to Ischia, with several afternoon crossings from Ischia to Capri, which are ideal if you’re staying in Ischia and want to take a day trip to Capri.

If I’m staying on Capri, is it a good idea to take a day trip to Ischia?
If I’m staying on Capri, is it a good idea to take a day trip to Ischia?
Ischia is a very large island, so it’s difficult to see it all in just one day. One option is to take a private boat tour in the Gulf of Naples and stay on the boat without disembarking, or disembark for a very quick visit, perhaps visiting just the Aragonese Castle. Otherwise, we recommend you spend at least one night on Ischia. If you only have enough time for a day trip, we recommend Positano and Amalfi as ideal destinations for a day trip from Capri.
