Grifo Hotel Charme & Spa

After taking the ferry from Naples to Ischia Port a quick call to the hotel and within 5 minutes they were down to pick up us. As soon as you walk in it hits you what a nice hotel it is, nice grounds and passing a lovely looking pool. We were greeted with a welcome drink and a talk about the island itself and what to see. The room was of good size and had a balcony/seating area outside. As with Italy itself the beds are hard and for me uncomfortable. But this is personal taste and made ways around it best I could. Two areas to relax in the sun, the one by the pool was our choice. the main pool was cold but actually was nice once in and refreshing. Able to order drinks by the pool from the bar. €10 for a limoncello spritz which is about average. Used the spa once which was nice. The thermal pool was lovely and warm. Breakfast was really good, I loved all the cakes. Enzo and the staff always looking after our needs. Personal choice again, we didn't eat at the hotel as it was just too posh and sea food orientated for what we wanted. Plenty of places around the island for the more traditional stuff we liked like Carbonara, Bolognese, Pizza and White fish dishes. Four shuttle bus run in the morning from the hotel and evening to help get you to the main areas. Buses are easy to use but get very busy at times. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely stay. I'd love to go back but we covered all we wanted to so onto the next destination next year.

My cousin and I stayed at Grifo Hotel for three wonderful nights in October. We can’t say enough about the clean hotel, lovely room, great views and delicious meals. The best eggplant we had in Italy. Marika gives you a warm welcome and helpful orientation to hotel and Island. Enzo, Enricco and entire staff are so attentive and efficient. We used the spa for facials and massages. The facial was one of the best I have ever had. There are also beautiful plants and trees on property. Our only disappointment; the beds were rock hard. The Island has a lot to offer w thermal pools, beaches, gardens, shopping and restaurants along the marina. I highly recommend Grifo Hotel and Ischia! Don’t miss it.
