The Scent of the Sea

Each morning at the Costa del Capitano Resort, begin your day by throwing open your window to look out over the sea just like you've always dreamed. Almost all the cottages have a terrace or small private garden overlooking the waters off Ischia, so you'll be tempted to spend your days on the loungers taking in the view and the clean scent of the sea. The most beautiful villas are Terra di Mare and Castello di Poppa, the latter of which has two hot tubs: one in the bedroom and one on the terrace overlooking the sea!

The resort has private access to the beach, perfect for avoiding the summer crowds, as well as two clay tennis courts and a pool with natural spring water.

The Sea at the Table

La Tuga is where guests can dine at the resort, with tables overlooking the sea and classic dishes from the island. This is the perfect spot for a quick lunch during a break from the pool or beach, or a romantic dinner with a dreamy view of the lights twinkling on the waves.

Exceptional 8 days vacation at Ischia

We just returned from staying at Costa del Capitano and it was simply AMAZING. From the warm reception of Anna, who greeted us immediately upon arrival, with bottles of wine, water and breakfast items in a basket in our 2 bedroom villa with sea view. We were struck by this lovely gem of a place. The stunning views of the sea with its cliffs and boats passing by was astounding. You wouldn’t want to leave the villa. My husband and 2 grown up daughters fell in love with this unique accommodation. It was so peaceful and so stunning. The villa was set within cave like structures of volcanic stones. It’s secluded and peaceful but still only a 10 minutes walk to Saint Angelo. There is a lot to see and do nearby. It’s a self catering facility currently but we loved walking to Osteria della Mamma, everyday (2 minute walk) for breakfast. The Lemon Cake is the best cake I ever had and my daughter loved their tiramisu. There are many lovely restaurants nearby with incredible food and spectacular views. Do visit the Giardini La Mortella, La Sorgente Bar and natural thermal waters (do wear sea slippers), the beaches of Maronti & Fumarole are wonderful. What an awesome island.

Worst hotel Ever

Worst hotel I've been to to date, no internet in the room, when we got to the hotel the sheet was missing on one of the beds where according to him who works there won't get one and says we have to wait until the morning after, constant power cuts and we was told that we could not charge our phones if we also want air conditioning on, as I am complaining about this the owner comes shouting at me like a manic and theatens me, saying he will call the police and have me throwed out if i complain more and domt go to my room. NEVER experienced anything like this and would advise everyone to stay away from this hotel. Ps it is far out in the middle of nowhere and when I asked for a bar or restaurant I was told there is a bus leaving early tomorrow Ps the bar is much more expensive than what is reasonable

Hands down the best place to stay in Ischia! Amazing views, spacious & clean apartments, small thermal pool on grounds, walking distance from Sant' Angelo. Overall great value for the money, the downfall is you'll never want to leave the hotel to see the rest of the island!

If you want a quiet seclusion with amazing views, Costa Capitano is great. The restaurant is good for breakfast (we couldn't afford their dinners!), and there's tennis courts and a cute little pool area. However, be aware that at least one of the accommodation units is like a museum piece; namely the Marre di Mare villa. If you have the slightest inclination toward modern, contemporary comforts, then make sure they allocate one of their renovated apartments.

The Costa del Capitano Resort is in Sant’Angelo di Ischia, Ischia's historic fishing village. This corner of the island has a timeless charm but is also one of the most chic locations, with boutiques and clubs.
